Willi is a strategic advisor and expert on Middle East geopolitics and political economy with over 25 years of professional experience at the World Economic Forum, the University of Oxford, Ca' Foscari University in Venice, the Geneva Graduate Institute, the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, and the Middle East Institute Switzerland (MEIS).
His expertise spans a wide range of subject areas - from economic development and geopolitical risk analysis to Middle East History and political Islam. He currently acts as a Strategic Advisor for clients from the private and public sectors, helping them to navigate the complexities of the Middle East and the Global South.
He is also a Marie Curie European Union Fellow at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, teaches at the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna, and is the Executive Director of the Middle East Institute Switzerland - the first Swiss think tank and advisory firm for the Middle East and the Global South, which he founded and currently leads.
