Victor J. Willi is Co-Founder and Executive Director at the Middle East Institute Switzerland (MEIS), and an expert on geopolitics and political risk in the MENA region. He has over 25 years of professional and research experience in the Middle East and has worked and lived in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Lebanon and Turkey. He has taught and lectured at different global institutions and gained six years of experience at the World Economic Forum. He is the recipient of several full-time scholarships, including from the Swiss National Science Foundation. He received his PhD in modern History from the University of Oxford and his Master’s from the University of Zurich. He is the author of The Fourth Ordeal: A History of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, 1968-2018 (published with Cambridge University Press in 2021).

Er verfügt über mehr als 25 Jahre Berufs- und Forschungserfahrung in der Nahostregion, unter anderem in Ägypten, Jordanien, Saudi-Arabien, Katar, den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten, Libanon und der Türkei. Er hat an verschiedenen globalen Institutionen gelehrt und Vorträge gehalten und sechs Jahre Erfahrung beim World Economic Forum gesammelt. Er ist Empfänger mehrerer Vollzeitstipendien, unter anderem vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds. Il possède plus de 25 ans d’expérience professionnelle et de recherche au Moyen-Orient, notamment en Égypte, en Jordanie, en Arabie saoudite, au Qatar, aux Émirats arabes unis, au Liban et en Turquie. Il a enseigné et donné des conférences dans différentes institutions mondiales et a acquis six années d’expérience au Forum économique mondial. Il est bénéficiaire de plusieurs bourses à temps plein, notamment du Fonds national suisse. Il est titulaire d’un doctorat en histoire de l’Université d’Oxford et d’un Master de l’Université de Zurich.
